Our Crew
Writer, Director, Co-Sound Designer & Co-Producer
Paul Burns
is an emerging writer/director interested in developing projects that explore underrepresented topics, while being unafraid to play with cinematic conventions for distinctive, emotionally-driven approaches to story-telling. With Get to the Wire, Paul wishes to draw urgent attention to the approaching mass displacement of people brought on by the climate crisis, while exploring the ways in which nations and individuals respond to global and personal crises.

Writer, Producer
Maggie Brittingham
is an award-winning filmmaker, who has developed sensitive communication skills and a passion for team collaboration through their practice as a writer/director. Maggie works as a freelance production assistant in the Film and Television industry, and as a researcher in the area of mental health in the arts and entertainment industry. Maggie hopes to have a sociological impact in the Australian media landscape, by exploring a diversity of stories and promoting equity and inclusion in all of their practices.

Co-Producer
Eli Elisco
is an up-and-coming filmmaker, with an obsessive passion for writing, directing, and musical composition. With a distinctive and tender style, he specializes in the writing and directing of intense film dramas. Drawn to the beauties of everyday life, Eli also aspires to expand into documentary filmmaking, wishing to unveil the important stories commonly left untold. Co-producing Get to the Wire has provided a tremendous opportunity to do so, as the film aims to bring light to the urgency of the climate crisis and the displacement of refugees while promoting unity and care.

Cinematographer
Louis Walter
has a cinematographic style which leans towards gritty-realism through a documentary-like aesthetic. Having been cinematographer on a variety of projects, Louis combined the skills he has developed with his interest in world events, through a career in news broadcasting and documentary.
Production Designer
Annika Rigg
has extensive experience as a production designer from working on a wide variety of projects. Annika was drawn to working on Get to the Wire because it addresses significant issues in Australian society, which are easier for those in a position of privilege to ignore. Annika created an immersive world that sensitively depicts the harsh conditions of a detention centre, while incorporating futuristic prop design.

Editor & Colorist
Daniel Witt
was drawn to post-production due to the endless creative choices involved in being the final storyteller. Daniel’s plan for the future involves working full-time as a colorist, and continuing to put his mark on visually striking stories related to important topics. Daniel is most excited to be working on Get to the Wire, due to the unique editing style required to match the film’s bold long-take cinematography and real-time story-telling approach.

Sound Designer
Perry Weinstock
Perry Weinstock (SOUND DESIGNER) is an experienced sound and mixing engineer in the field of music and Get to the Wire marks his first foray into film. Perry is enthralled by the links between image and sound and seeks to create a sonic palette for the film that heighten the feelings of disassociation, determination, bleakness and love which are delicately conveyed through the image.

Adam Stobbs
Co-Sound Designer
is obsessed with creating an invisible tone and immersive atmosphere through sound. After gaining a wealth of production knowledge in his TAFE years from working on a great array of projects, Stobbs is placing his whole heart into sound design for his tertiary years. Sound design is an essential part of Get to the Wire’s world-building, and Stobbs is excited for the challenge of finding a sonic match to the film’s claustrophobic, tunnel-vision style visuals, and the story's urgent themes.
